One wonders what could pose a bigger health threat than the attempts to lock down what kind of medical treatment is available during a serious medical event or pandemic to only what Big Pharma and Big Government orders.
The “misinformation” is anything anyone questioned, even those with very strong relevant credentials, about what the likes of the CDC and the WHO recommended during COVID. They want to shut down dissent and other opinions, even highly professional ones, before the next medical misadventure. They dare call such rank censorship and push for global control of medical practices by treaty mitigation of a “serious hearth threat”?
The push is no longer about promoting one and only truth about “the” pandemic – but about pandemics in general (as if the COVID one was the first the humankind ever experienced – and, for that reason, now extra special measures need to be in place for the next one).
And, making all this a little easier to comprehend, woven into the story is now firmly the notion of “misinformation, fact-checking” and other such at this point in time, time and time again, debunked narratives.
“Misinformation poses a serious health threat, especially in vaccine distribution. Balancing free speech with combating misinformation is challenging. An all-of-society approach is needed, involving medical societies, tech companies, and fact-checking organizations. WHO can lead partnerships between scientific experts and information disseminators to ensure credible information reaches the public.”
What of the officially approved misinformation such as:
- if you get the vaccine you will not catch COVID
- If you get the vaccine if you do catch COVID it will be milder and you can’t pass it to others
- We will just do lockdowns a few weeks to “flatten the curve”
- You can get COVID, it can be serious and you can pass it on but you are grossly irresponsible if you don’t get the vaccine and all boosters and have your children get it to
- Natural immunity really isn’t relevant
- Masks prevent the spread of COVID and catching it
- Social distancing works
- Ivermectin (a drug on the WHO list of crucial medicines for over 40 years) is “horse medicine” not for humans and totally ineffective against COVID
- There is no early treatment. Just stay home and come to the hospital when/if you can’t breathe well
Need I go on? What is really most needed for the health and well-being of all us is healthy flow of information and debate and the freedom of doctors to prescribe whatever treatments they believe are best. What is completely NOT needed is any deeper legal framework to shut down dissent and make the only treatment and total control of anything desired during a medical emergency be at the orders of some unelected global body.
This is another instance of the war against the free flow of information and against being left free to innovate and find your own best path through any situation including medical emergencies.
COVID is being milked while there is still some fear of it and revisionist Stockholm Syndrome type response to the tyranny as excuse to build stronger chains wrapped around the privacy and freedom of all of us. This is another excuse to seek to gain control over that pesky bothersome internet and free private communication using it.
